Frequently asked questions
Is the Playwright JavaScript compiler free?
Yes. Running code is free and needs no account. Saving and sharing scripts needs a free sign-in.
Do I need to install Playwright browsers?
No. Chromium is already installed in the container, so launch() works without npx playwright install.
Can I use test() and expect()?
The script runs with plain Node.js, so the test runner does not start. Use page methods and console.log to check results, as in the starter code.
