Privacy policy
This page explains what CodeKru Tools (tools.codekru.com) collects, why, who else sees it and how you can have it deleted. We do not sell your data.

Information you give us
- Account: your name, email address and password. The password is stored only as a bcrypt hash.
- Contact and feedback forms: your name, email address and message, so we can reply.
- Saved scripts: code you choose to save in a compiler, stored with your account until you delete it. If you share a saved script, anyone with the link can open it, as your sharing setting allows.
Information created when you use the tools
- Code you run: sent to our servers and executed in an isolated container. It is not kept after the run unless you save it.
- Assignment progress: your submissions, test results and number of attempts, so you can resume and see your history.
- Leaderboards: if you solve assignments while signed in, your name and score appear on the public leaderboard for that course. Your email address is never shown.
- API testing lessons: the requests you send to the practice API and its responses are logged with your account and deleted automatically after 30 days.
- AI tools: the text or code you paste is sent to OpenAI to produce the result. We keep the input, the output and any thumbs-up or thumbs-down feedback to improve the tools, and delete these logs after about three months. Do not paste passwords, keys or confidential data.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages and tools are used. It records page views and events such as “compiler run” or “assignment completed”, with IP anonymization on. We never send your code, generated output, email address or search text to Google Analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies; you can block them in your browser or with Google’s opt-out add-on.
Storage in your browser
The site uses your browser’s local storage for your sign-in token (valid for 24 hours), the code and theme in each editor, your recently used tools and analytics preferences. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Advertising
The site does not show ads today. If we start showing Google ads, Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. We will update this page before that happens, and you can turn off personalized ads in Google’s Ads Settings.
Who we share it with
- OpenAI, to run the AI tools (only the input you submit to those tools).
- Google, for analytics and for the web fonts the pages load.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the servers and database.
- Anyone else only if the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting your data
Account data, saved scripts and progress are kept while your account exists. You can delete saved scripts yourself from your profile. To delete your account and everything linked to it, or to get a copy of your data, contact us from the email address on your account and we will do it within 30 days.
Signing out revokes your sign-in tokens on every device. All traffic to the site uses HTTPS.
Children
CodeKru Tools is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
